On June 6, 2006, RACU students had the opportunity to meet a prominent public figure. Viktor Shenderovich, a famous journalist and satirist, met with the students, faculty, and staff and shared his insights with an informal presentation and question-and-answer session. Mr. Shenderovich became widely known to the public in 1994 when he presented his political satirical TV show "Kukly" (Puppets) and he has been awarded several prizes for his televised productions. Currently, Shenderovich is producing other television and radio programs.

On Saturday, May 27, 2006, 23 students marched across the stage and received their state-approved degrees in Business & Economics, Social Work, and English language and Literature. It was a joyful celebration and the auditorium was filled to capacity in honor of these graduates, nine of whom were from Moscow and the other 14 from cities across the Russian Federation.

Patrick Black joined the RACU staff this fall as both Music Director and an instructor in the English department. He is teaching two classes during the fall 2005 semester: Composition and Advanced English. In addition to his teaching duties, Patrick coordinates music for student chapel services. “My goal is to give students more opportunities to develop their language, music and leadership skills,” he says.

It has been a while since RACU’s chapel room was as full as it was on the 10th of November. Students and faculty crowded outside of the room, because every seat was occupied. Four special guests visited RACU’s campus that day: Reed Elley, former Member of Parliament (1997-2004), Gerry Sherman, Director of the Christian Embassy of Canada, Wayne Webster, president of Princess Towers Inc., a Canadian real estate company, and Rick Schneider, a visiting professor from Yale University. |
