RACU Student Attends Montreat College, Participates in Trade Institute

“The International Trade and Small Business Institute provides a wonderful opportunity to build a close relationship between Montreat College and RACU. We share a foundational faith in Jesus Christ; we educate from a biblical worldview; and now we share students as well. I hope that alumni of this program will work to build a strong relationship not only between our colleges, but also between our nations, and their economies.”

- Dan Struble, President Montreat College

RACU student Evgeny Ignatov is spending his school year in an unusual and inspiring way – he is attending Montreat College in North Carolina and participating in the newly established International Trade and Small Business Institute (ITSBI).

The International Trade and Small Business Institute, which was unveiled in August, is designed to help students like Evgeny to succeed in business in their native countries. For more on this exciting program and Evgeny’s experiences there, click here to read an article in the Citizen-Times, a local newspaper in North Carolina.

Evgeny is making a strong impression during his time in the States. “Evgeny is a delightful young man and an important addition to Montreat College,” says Dan Struble, President of Montreat College. “He is a solid student. He works hard. And he is well liked by students, faculty and staff alike. We are most glad he is here, and we are pleased he is the first -- hopefully of many -- RACU students to come to Montreat College.”

President Struble isn’t the only one who’s been impressed by Evgeny. “I would like to echo President Struble’s comments about Evgeny,” chimes in David Walters, VP for Adult Services and Special Services at Montreat College and representative for Montreat on the Board of Advisors for ITSBI. “I have the pleasure of teaching Evgeny in one of his Business courses at Montreat. Evgency recently made a presentation to the ITSBI Board of Advisors and represented both Montreat College and RACU extremely well. His presentation was about a survey that he has developed for the purposes of improving support to the participating students next year. It was very well received by the Board.”

Not only does Evgeny attend Montreat and participate in the Trade Institute, he also spends his time off in worthwhile ways! Evgeny spent his four-day fall break at the home of Congressman Charles Taylor, whose inspiration and funding led to the development of the Trade Institute.
