Vice President of Academic Affairs and Executive Vice President

REPORTS TO: President & CEO

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for administrative oversight of all academic programs and personnel. The person in this position serves as the chief operating officer (COO) of RACU in its Moscow location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the University’s academic program including faculty recruitment, development, promotion, and retention; academic governance; curriculum planning, design, and implementation; academic scheduling; outcomes assessment; and library development.
  • Serves as the chief operating officer of the University by providing support and direction for other key administrative staff and by maintaining standards of excellence and accountability.
  • Manages the University’s re-licensing, self-attestation, and accreditation process with the Russian Ministry of Education.
  • Manages the University staff supporting the academic program, including the Deputy to the VPAA, registrar, the library staff, student development staff, learning resources center staff, and the public affairs/development staff.
  • Promotes relationships with various constituencies in Russia.
  • Chairs the Management Team Meetings and the Academic Affairs Council Meetings; sets the agenda, and provides reports of activities to the President and the Board of Trustees.
  • Reviews and approves the monthly and annual budget prior to submission.
  • Serves as the chief spokesperson and representative of the University in the President’s absence.
  • Engages in strategic long-range planning and annual goal setting activities.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in an academic discipline or in higher education administration and prior management experience is required. Must be a team player and effective manager. Previous cross-cultural experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of the Russian language and culture. Must be committed to RACU’s vision and mission and able to subscribe to the Apostle’s Creed and the Statement of Faith of the World Evangelical Fellowship.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Based on work experience and academic credentials. Must be willing to work with the President to raise support for this position.
